DECCA CONTRACT OPENS NEW SHOWROOM (06.06.2012)

Decca Contract will unveil its new showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago during this year’s NeoCon exposition, which takes place June 11-13, 2012. The highly visible space on the sought-after third floor of the Mart will showcase Decca contract furnishings for the thousands of architecture and design professionals who attend North America’s largest and most important design conference and exhibit.

During NeoCon, Decca will host press tours of the new showroom and a cocktail party for invited guests and the media to be held June 11, from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. “We’re pleased to debut our new showroom and toast this annual gathering of America’s best and busiest designers here in a mecca of great design,” says John Fischbach, President of Decca Contract. “Our new space has a clean, contemporary look that displays our commitment to craft and shows off the work of our talented designers.”
From Idea to Reality

While the Decca showroom is brand new, Decca Contract’s brand message remains unchanged: “From Idea to Reality,” a dictum that informs the design of the new space. The showroom represents the singular breadth and depth of Decca’s manufacturing capabilities through product introductions that highlight the legacy of craft and quality for which Decca is known.

“Taken together, it’s a tour de force of materials, craft and minimal, modern aesthetics,” says showroom designer Brian Graham. “Decca believes in enduring materials like stainless and bronze and fine wood veneers. And beyond the existing product and enhancements, Decca’s MTO offerings – which stands for ‘Made To Order’ – ensure that any design need can be addressed and achieved with the same high quality and flawless execution.”
Showroom Highlights

Among the newsworthy products to be featured in Decca’s showroom (3-101) will be designer Brian Kane’s Kane Portfolio of casegoods, as well as a refined seating collection by the acclaimed San Francisco designer. The showroom will also highlight the GL collection of casegoods by Gary Lee, a Chicago-based designer well known for striking interiors and elegant product design.

In addition, Decca Contract will present three vignettes from the much-praised Rottet collection, which includes modern seating and occasional tables. Designed by Lauren Rottet, the collection pairs the renowned architect’s signature of timeless elegance with precise, handcrafted details.

Multidisciplinary designer Brian Graham rounds out Decca’s impressive roster of architects and designers. In addition to designing the new Decca showroom in Chicago, Graham has orchestrated an inclusive design program for Decca and created a number of new furniture designs:

The Museum Collection™
Inspired by frequent visits to museums and the desire to pause and reflect, The Museum Collection is about simple, understated elements, united through line, scale and material. The collection includes a signature bench, lounge chairs and occasional tables.

Gallery™
An essay in modern form, Gallery represents Decca’s “Made To Order” (MTO) capabilities—the flawless execution of functional solutions crafted with architectural materials, including polished stainless steel, back-painted glass and exotic Avidore veneer.

Plateau™
Conceived as a modern interpretation of a traditional tray table, Plateau is a series of occasional tables that offers an array of material options including wood, stone and glass.

Decca Contract will also present an expansion to their Index™casegoods offering with the introduction of Index LT™. “Index is a direct and positive success for designers and end-users who need finely detailed, high-quality furnishings at a reasonable price point,” says Fischbach. “Index LT introduces pieces that are leaner and lighter in scale – more about line than box or mass. Thoughtful designers are exploring such themes today, and Decca’s Index offering has grown to reflect these important trends.”
