Karimoku New Standard launches new collection

Karimoku Standard Collection, a Japanese brand which was founded in 2009 as part of Karimoku Japan’s leading manufacturer of wooden furniture, with the aim to launch a young, exceptional collection that combines the traditional precision of Japanese craftsmanship with a contemporary design language for the international market. With experience of more than 70 years in furniture production, a deep knowledge of finest carpentry craftsmanship, the use of cutting-edge technologies as well as the talent of international designers, the brand constantly expands its exceptional collection of wooden furniture. Karimoku New Standard pieces are made to bring lasting joy, true to the credo that a piece of furniture should last at least as long as the tree it was made from.

Their new design collection is an overview of the Japanese brand’s comprehensive collection, and this time they have collaborated with the international designers.

The Karimoku New Standard collection stands for innovative, joyful and functional furniture and objects that suit the ways of urban living in the 21st century. The comprehensive collection comprises a wide range of seating furniture, including chairs, sofas, stools, a variety of joyful accessories in bold colours, unique table series from dining tables, bar tables to side tables as well as a number of storage solutions. With a profound sense for elegant and boldly contemporary colours, the Karimoku New Standard collection is designed to suit the ways of contemporary living in the east as well as in the west.

All Karimoku New Standard products are made in Japan with the utmost care and to highest quality standards. Working with the most skilled craftsmen while making use of the most advanced technologies, Karimoku New Standard builds furniture of the highest possible quality in 7 company-owned factories all over Japan. Aiming to preserve and revitalize Japanese forests and resume a balance with the local forest industry, all products are made using sustainably sourced Japanese hardwoods, such as maple, chestnut and oak – mostly low-diameter trees that are often discarded or ending up as paper pulp.

Karimoku New Standard cooperates with a spectrum of renowned international designers such as BIG-GAME, Scholten & Beijings, Christian Haas, Sylvain Willenz, TAF, GECKELER MICHELS, Lucien Gumy, Teruhiro Yanagihara as well as the Karimoku design team.
