Architect Damien transforms a office into a contemporary home
The French top interior design, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, transformed a 340-square-meter office into an outstanding Contemporary Home, combining luxury furniture design pieces to the base of warm grey and camel tones. This modern apartment in the heart of Paris a few blocks from the Champs-Elysées was designed for a Middle Eastern couple.

Before this was an office of a film production company, and the interiors were divided into a warren of small rooms. “It was quite difficult to see its spatial potential,” recalls Langlois-Meurinne. But once he started to create the interior design project he notice the potential of it, and he designs a very clear separation between the social and the private areas.

The contemporary entryway is the apartment’s most dramatic space. “It’s interesting for an entry hall to be quite theatrical,” he says, “It’s not space where you spend much time so you can let go a little.”

Fort he interior designer each room should have a distinguished personality but with common visual elements to connect. “It creates a feeling of cohesion and fluidity, as well as a sense of discovery,” he adds.

There are touches of camel and burnt orange tones in several rooms, and a unique application of brass accents, such as light fixtures, door handles and bathroom hardware. “It’s a material that brings a touch of warmth and a certain sophistication to an interior,” Langlois-Meurinne says. One of his memorable product, the Last Night chandelier, was placed in the dining area. “It’s based on the idea of the night sky,” he says. “Allusions to the natural world are a way of bringing a touch of poetry to my interiors.” He added further.
