Major furniture fairs rescheduled due to health emergency

Most awaiting shows of the furniture industry have been rescheduled due to the growing threat of novel coronavirus. Prominent shows in the South East Asian region scheduled in the first quarter of 2020, FIMMA – Maderalia, VIFA Expo, isaloni, 45th CIFF Guangzhou, Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2020 and EFE 2020 all rescheduled due to concerns relating to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The move seeks to support exhibitors’ and visitors’ businesses and ensure that the showcase features all the latest products on the market and the presence of leading operators in the industry. The industry endorses FIMMA-Maderalia’s decision, which means the original programme of events and the fair’s substantial exhibition content are being transferred to new dates in the first week of June.

FIMMA – Maderalia has decided to postpone its next edition to the first week of June in the face of the situation brought about by the spread of the Coronavirus and the implications for foreign exhibitors and visitors, especially those from Italy and Central Europe. The next edition of FIMMA – Maderalia will as a result take place from June 2 to 5 this year, at the same venue, Feria Valencia. According to the organisers, the decision seeks to support both exhibitors’ business and that of the thousands of visitors who were expected to attend from March 10 to 13.

Organisers of the Salone del Mobile furniture fair have decided to postponed the event due to concerns relating to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The show was originally scheduled between April 21-26 but now has been postponed until June 16 due to growing concern over health emergency. The announcement was made by the mayor of milan, Giuseppe Sala, along with the Salone del mobile president Claudio Luti and Emanuele Orsini, president of Federlegno Arredo Eventi. salone del mobile below shared their opinion on the same, ‘following an extraordinary meeting today of the board of Federlegno Arredo Eventi, and in view of the ongoing public health emergency, the decision has been taken to postpone the upcoming edition of the salone del mobile.milan to June 16 – 21. Confirmation of the change of date for the trade fair – strongly supported by the mayor of milan giuseppe sala – means that the manufacturers, in a major show of responsibility, will be able to present their finalised work to an international public that sees the annual appointment with the salone del mobile.milano as a benchmark for creativity and design.’

VIFA Expo decided to postpone the event after carefully reviewing and considering the situation in a comprehensive way and stated, “ The Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair – VIFA EXPO 2020 which was scheduled from March 11 to 14 at SECC, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam has been postponed”. New dates are yet to be decided.
